The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the group enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
